Road Trip: Las Vegas, Part 1

The Paris Hotel in Las Vegas

Dillon and I have been having so much fun in our road trip. Las Vegas was the break we needed! We have been doing a lot of hiking in the first part of our road trip. But once we arrived in Las Vegas, we were able to get a break from all the hiking and go go go.

The Paris Hotel in Las Vegas

We booked a room in the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas and stayed there for 4 days. It was my first time staying in downtown Las Vegas. However, I did a girl’s trip years ago and although our hotel wasn’t downtown, we still got to explore  a lot of the hotels on the strip. I loved staying in the Paris Hotel. When you walk around the casino level, the shops look like you’re actually walking through Paris streets. I grew up hoping that one day I would visit Paris. I even took a few years of French class in high school. Paris just seems to have such a charm. Anyway, Dillon and I pretty much stayed at the hotel the majority of the time except for a few times when we went to the Bellagio.

We arrived on a Monday. Here’s a tip: If you are able to book your stay during the weekdays and not weekends, it might be a bit cheaper. After checking in and getting settled, we were ready to eat dinner. We got dressed and walked over to the Bellagio which was right across from the Paris Hotel. Which means, the Bellagio Fountain is right across from the Paris Hotel as well! (more on that later).

After walking over to the Bellagio Hotel, we ate dinner at the Mayfair Supper Club. While the portion sizes were pretty small, the food was delicious. I’d actually say the dessert there was more filling than the entree! The food was really good and the decor at the restaurant was pretty eclectic. It was a fun time! Then Dillon and I hung out at the casino after dinner. He taught me how to play blackjack. Let’s just say Dillon is way better at numbers than me!

The next day we hung out at the gym at the hotel. I love throwing on podcasts or audiobooks when I am working out. I am currently listening to Fierce Marriage. It’s a great book to listen to or read if you are a newlywed or just married in general! The author touches on major points in marriage that are so so important. Then that night, we walked over to see the Bellagio Fountains up close. They play a song and the fountains go along with the song. It is beautiful! They really did a great job with the fountains!

The following day, Dillon and I went to the gym again. Then after showering and getting dress, Dillon and I went to the Vanderpump à Paris restaurant. Now I am guilty to have watched the Real Housewives show on TV. I recognized the restaurant owner’s name right away. Lisa Vanderpump is the owner of the restaurant. The decor really caught my eye! They had these twirling bouquets of roses on the ceiling. Everything in there looked really cool. We ordered dessert at this place as well. Dillon and I actually ate our fair share of dessert on this trip. But we balanced it off with going to the gym. It’s all about balance!

Our last full day at the hotel, we checked out the pool. Normally, Dillon and I like to go to the pool or the beach at 4pm when the UV is much lower. We might have gone at 4:30pm to the pool, but when we arrived they said they were closing soon for the day. So we were only able to hang around for 20 minutes or so. The sun was still super hot at that time, I mean, we are at a desert lol. But it’s something to keep in mind if you are one of those people that don’t like to lay out in the middle of the day and plan to visit their pool.

We basically saved the best for last in terms of restaurants. Our last night, we made a reservation to the Eiffel Tower Restaurant! It was absolutely amazing!! It’s ranked as one of the most romantic restaurants in the United States. The restaurant has a great view of the Bellagio Fountains. That might have been the best part about it! If you do want to sit by the glass window so you have the better view, you have to pay $40 per person ahead of time to reserve the seat. But if you think about it, you’re basically getting dinner and a show. The fountains go off around every 15 minutes or so.  So you’ll see it plenty of times throughout your dinner. Also important to note, they do have a dress code as this restaurant is considered fine dining.

Dillon has been to Dubai before and he even said that the Fountains at the Bellagio were better than the ones in Dubai! But after an amazing 4 days at Las Vegas, we checked out and headed to California. Stay tuned for the next part of our trip! 🙂
