I turned 30 this year!! I still can’t believe I just entered a new decade. My 20s have been great (with a lot of lessons along the way), but I am so looking forward to my 30s!
For my 30th birthday, I had two celebrations. For the first one, I went to dinner with my family to celebrate not only my birthday, but my parent’s and my husband’s birthday as well. We all just happen to be March babies so we celebrate extra hard this month. We opted for an Italian restaurant in Mizner Park. The older I get, the more I appreciate spending time with my family. I love them so much.
For the second celebration, my husband and I (as well as my baby boy) went to The Breakers in Palm Beach. This was somewhere I’ve been meaning to visit but never really had an occasion for it. Last minute I decided, “oh, let’s go to The Breakers!” All three of us had such a great time we decided to come again for my husband’s birthday brunch. However, for my birthday we did an evening dinner at….you guessed it, an Italian restaurant. We just love our Italian cuisine:) The whole property is stunning. They do such a great job making everything so beautiful!
I personally love dressing up on my birthdays. For this particular location, I thought I should go all out! I mean…it’s my 30th birthday, I have to go all out:) When shopping online, I came across this magenta sequins gown and I kept going back to it even after looking at a ton of other dresses. It has these tropical florals sequins that just fit the south Florida Palm Beach vibe so perfectly. I got so many compliments on the dress! I accessorized with silver dangly earrings and with silver heels (but also wore shorter block heels when walking around). Yes, I’m the kind of girl that will bring back up shoes. I learned my lesson the hard way ladies…haha. My whole look is linked at the bottom of this blog post.
Overall, it was such a magical and romantic evening<3
I also wanted to share a few life lessons since entering my 30s. They are tips and snippets of wisdom I learned from others or from personal life experience. Hope it helps you guys!
- Do everything with excellence as if for the Lord (Colossians 3:23)
- Be intentional with your time, relationships, and friendships.
- Resting is good, just as working is good. There is a right time for everything.
- Don’t be scared to set the right boundaries. Sometimes no is the right answer.
- Don’t take things personally.
- 70% of communication is non-verbal. What you don’t say matters.
- For better time management, find what you can delete, delegate, defer, and do.
- Let go of expectations towards others. No one can be 100% reliable. Only God.
- Don’t judge others because in the same manner you will be judged too. (Matthew 7:2)
- What others think is not my business. Simple as that.
