My Looks From My Recent Road-Trip

Dillon and I did a road trip from Florida all the way to Maine recently and I wanted to share some of my favorite looks and snippets from our road trip <3

West Virginia

After visiting Dillon’s family in NC for some time, we drove to West Virginia and stayed at a cozy lakefront Airbnb. It was near Harper’s Ferry, a town with a lot of history. We even had some colder days which was a nice change from the Florida humidity. Wyatt had so much fun visiting a new place! Overall, we didn’t venture out around town because we were enjoying the Airbnb so much. We had a huge lake outside with ducks swimming by every day. Our Airbnb had a jacuzzi and grill. So since we stayed in one spot, my outfits were mostly comfy and chill.

Pennsylvania

After West Virginia, we continued to drive north towards Pennsylvania. We stopped at Longwood Gardens and spent a good chunk of our day exploring the gorgeous flowers they had on display. I love flowers so it made me so happy to walk around and just appreciate nature. I definitely recommend this place if you’ve never been before! Our baby Wyatt had some teething pains but it happens and it’s part of being a baby. Next time, I’ll make sure to bring extra teething gel! But that was the only little hiccup. Overall it was such a beautiful garden and I want to go back again sometime in the future!

New York

Next up, we drove to New York. Before going to our hotel, we drove to The Hamptons and even stopped by Montauk for a bit. It was definitely a drive but it was worth it! We had a nice dinner at the Hamotons and then we drove to our hotel in Manhattan. The next day, we explored the city and spent some time strolling through Central Park. It was years since I’ve been there so it was fun to go again! It was a hot day outside so I just wanted to wear a comfy dress (the white dress below). The following day we strolled (along with Wyatt in the stroller) all the way to The Bull on Wall Street. Our little Wyatt even got a picture in front of the bull! We probably burned a ton of calories from walking that day so I decided to get a little treat from the Magnolia Bakery.

Maine

The next day, we checked out of the hotel in NY and drove to Maine. We enjoyed some nice seafood for dinner (I finally got to try a lobster roll!) 🙂 We stayed at the Grand Hotel in Bar Harbour. I loved their breakfast selection. This was a great hotel overall and I would definitely go back sometime! While we were there, we visited Acadia National Park. We loved seeing the east coast from the north side! The cliffs overlooking the ocean is just a different beauty than what I’m used to in Florida. Also since we went when it was still late spring, the weather was pretty chilly (at least for me). Make sure to pack a jacket if you are visiting late spring! That night, we ate at the Galyn at Bar Harbour for dinner. The sunset that night was spectacular. The next day we stopped by Fort Williams Park to get a view of the famous lighthouse before we started our road trip down south. Overall, Maine was such a beautiful state and the drive from Florida was well worth it.

North Carolina

We stayed at a hotel along the way before making our drive down to Mars Hill, NC. We booked an Airbnb for about a week. It was higher in the mountains (I think people stay there in the winter to ski) so we didn’t venture too much this time either. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and just the gorgeous views right outside the balcony. It was a great to just spend quality time with my family, reflect, and refresh my spirit. I think when doing road trips, it’s nice to have more active days mixed with chill no-plan days sprinkled in between. It gives a nice change of pace. Anyway, I purchased a cute denim dress from Lulus before heading for the road trip and decided to throw it on and take some pictures in the balcony:) Why not?
